Due to the current public health emergency, the Franklin Science Council has decided to cancel the 2020 Franklin Science and Technology Fair which was scheduled for March 27 and 28 at the Waynesboro Area Middle School, and the Championship Competition that was scheduled for April 4 at the Chambersburg Area School District Office. We look forward to providing the Science Fair for Franklin County students in 2021.
If there are any concerns or questions, feel free to contact us with the Contact Us form or P.O. Box 1404, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Sincerely, Stephen J. Schoonmaker, Franklin Science Council President.
NOTE: The 2020 Franklin Science and Technology Fair was cancelled. The following will be the policy for 2021:
- No project registration information for 2020 will be retained. Students will register their projects for 2021, as usual. And, only one project may be registered and entered in the 2021 Science Fair.
- Students may register their 2020 project in 2021, if desired. However, it will be entered in the division according to the grade they are in for 2021, and the work should be at the level of their grade in 2021, so some further work might be needed.
- It is common in science fairs for students to continue their work on the same project from one year to another, with the new year adding significant new research, experimentation, and results. So students are encouraged, if they were satisfied with the project they selected in 2020, to continue the research and work, and enter their results in 2021.
Science Fair Champion & Grand Champion
Selection of the Science Fair Champion and Grand Champion will be based on a separate competition to be held Saturday April 4, 2020 at the Chambersburg Administration Building (same location as in past years). See Science Fair Championship Competition for further information. First place category winners in the Junior and Senior Divisions are eligible for this additional competition and should plan on participating.
You must register using this website. Also, use the Rules link on this website for further information on the rules governing the Fair. We look forward to seeing YOUR exhibit in the science fair. Click here for important information.
