The official web site of the Franklin Science and Technology Fair in Franklin County, PA

What:The 30th annual Franklin Science and Technology Fair
When:April 13-14, 2012
Where:   Chambersburg Area Middle School South (CAMSS)
Why:Science is fun!
Who:YOU!

The science fair is open to all students in grades K-12 in Franklin County public, private, home, and cyber schools. You may pre-register at this website or using the paper entry form available at your school.

The 2012 Franklin Science and Technology Fair will present a collection of student exhibits, each of which presents the results of a student.s own independent research in an area of science or technology. Although students may enter multiple exhibits if desired, we strongly encourage each student to put his or her best work into a single exhibit.

You may submit either individual (one-person) or partnered (two-person) exhibits. Partnered exhibits will be judged and awarded separately from individual exhibits. In the Primary and Intermediate divisions (grades K-6), both individual and partnered exhibits will be eligible for all special awards. However, in the Junior and Senior divisions (grades 7-12), only individual exhibits will be eligible for most special awards.

On Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM participants will check in at the registration tables at CAMSS and set up their exhibits. Judging of the exhibits will be done Friday evening, and exhibit rooms will be open to the public on Saturday. All Category and Special Awards will be presented at the awards ceremony on Saturday. Exhibits must be removed Saturday afternoon.

NEW FOR 2012 - Selection of the Science Fair Champion and Grand Champion, previously awarded during the Science Fair Award Ceremony, now will be based on a separate competition to be held Saturday April 21, 2012. See Science Fair Championship Competition for further information. First place category winners in the Junior and Senior Divisions are eligible for this additional competition and should plan on participating.

Be sure to read and understand ALL information on this website – especially the rules – before you pre-register. Entries that do not conform to the rules may be disqualified. Pre-registration is required.
